Decks we build
Every deck is designed around your section, your house and how you'll use it. Not a catalogue plan.
Kwila decks
A dense, oil-rich hardwood with a deep red-brown colour. Our main focus, built with steps, balustrades and clean detailing.
Other timber decks
Pine, macrocarpa or other hardwood, chosen to suit your budget and how much upkeep you want.
Multi-level and raised decks
For sloping sections and split-level homes, engineered and consented where the height requires it.
Covered decks and pergolas
Shade and shelter so the deck earns its keep in January and in July.
Deck repairs and re-decking
Replacing tired boards, fixing soft spots, or bringing an old deck back up to code.
Your deck, built by the person who quotes it.
Not a handyman, and not a job passed to whoever is free that week.

Common questions
Who actually builds the deck?
Caleb, a Qualified Builder, does all the carpentry himself. The person who visits your site and writes your quote is the person who builds it.
Do I get a fixed price?
Yes. You get a clear, simple quote before work starts, with any allowances spelled out.
Do I need building consent for a deck?
It depends on the height and design of the deck and on the council rules for your section. We check this at the site visit, and decks that need engineering and consent are done properly.
Why kwila, and what does it need to keep looking good?
Kwila is a dense hardwood with natural oils, which is why it suits outdoor decks. Regular oiling keeps the rich red-brown colour, and if left alone it weathers to a silver-grey. We'll talk through finish options when we quote.
Where do you work?
Christchurch, Lincoln, Rolleston, Halswell and Prestons, and wider Canterbury on request.
